Southeast Division is the location of the original, tiny-but-charming Pix location. Squeeze through the door and commence to "ooh" and "aah" over the selection of hand-crafted gems of individual-sized desserts displayed in the glass case. Making a cake and cutting it into slices, however delicious the results might be, is not Pix's MO. Rather, you will find beautiful, gold-dusted chocolate domes of chocolate mousse sheltering crispy hazlenut-praline filling (The Royale) and personal-sized tart crusts full of baked apple-almond loveliness (the Apple Almond Nougatine). My favorite is the provocatively-named "Menage a Trois tarte," featuring an island of orange/vanilla-bean creme brulée floating in chocolate ganache, all on a bed of almond cream.

Due to their small size and late-night hours, Pix gets very busy sometimes. Prepare for a bit of a wait, especially on evenings and weekends.
