Collosso is one of those rare restaurants to which you might equally well bring your in-laws as your college friends. The decor is cozy and high-end hip, the waitstaff are friendly, and the cocktails innovative.

The delicious food offers a Northwest spin on traditional Spanish cuisine, including a special tortilla española with rotating seasonal ingredients. Thankfully (at least from my perspective) Collosso does not follow the Spanish model of including the high-test cured ham jamón serrano in every dish, but offers a generous number of tasty vegetarian options alongside more traditional meat plates. The small, tapas-sized portions mean that a table can order a wide assortment of food for sampling. At the end of the evening, the bill will be moderate, but you will have gotten a great value for your money. -Emily
